Panya Routes

Test Panya onthe roadsyou drive.

  • Panya finds roads, tracks and walking routes across Kenya.
  • Each route is graded and checked before it is published.
  • Download one and follow it with no signal.

Who we want

Kenyan drivers and walkers

  • Drivers with 4x4s

Low range, lockers or none. Tell us where the grade and your vehicle disagree.

  • Drivers in everyday cars

Saloons, hatchbacks and crossovers. The vehicle verdict has to be right for them too.

  • Walkers

Routes on foot use the same catalogue, with a foot grade and no vehicle verdict.

  • On iPhone or Android

iPhone testers join through TestFlight. Android testers join through Google Play testing.

What testers do

Three missions

Your welcome message sets them. Do them in any order.

  1. 01

    Navigate a route

Download a published route and follow it, with the phone offline for part of the way. Tell us where the line, the cues or the grade were wrong.

  2. 02

    Report a hazard

Report a washout, a closed gate or a fallen tree from the route, signed in. Other drivers see it on the route at once.

  3. 03

    Record a drive

Record a road you know well, start to finish. The recording stays in your own activity history and never becomes a published route on its own.

What you get

Early, and heard

  • Each beta build first

New builds reach you through TestFlight or Google Play before anyone else.

  • A direct line

Write to support@panyaroutes.com. The people building Panya read it.

  • Your reports seen

Hazards and problems you report go to the staff who review routes.

Questions testers ask

Which email should I give?

The one your phone’s store uses. On iPhone, the email of your Apple ID, because TestFlight sends the invite there. On Android, the Google account signed in to the Play Store on that phone, because Play testing only works for that account.

When will I hear back?

We invite testers in small groups as builds are ready, so we cannot promise a date. If we invite you, the invite goes to the email you gave.

Do I need a 4x4?

No. Everyday cars matter as much. The app has to tell a saloon driver plainly when a route is beyond the car, and name what is missing.

What do you do with my details?

We use them only to run the beta: to send your invite, and to message you about it if you gave a WhatsApp number. We never publish them. Email support@panyaroutes.com to have them deleted.

Can I leave the beta?

Yes, at any time. Remove the build from your phone, and email support@panyaroutes.com if you want your application deleted.

Is Panya an emergency service?

No. Nobody at Panya watches your trip. If someone is in danger, call 999, 112 or 1199 and do not wait for Panya.
